Catherine war. Comic

“Catherine’s war” is a graphic novel about a war in which there is not a single military scene. The story about the occupation of France is on behalf of a Jewish girl, who was forced to change the name and look for shelters from the Nazis in different parts of the country. Of the valuable things, she has only a camera with her. She captures all the people who sheltered her and thus draws up a gallery of certificates of World War II. The lens of its camera focuses on good, and through it we see the France of the 1940s through the eyes of a teenager growing into the war.

The artist Claire Fovel created the graphic novel “The War of Catherine”, inspired by the work of the same name by Julia Biye. In 2018, the authors received the Award of the International Comics Festival in the Angulum, the most prestigious in this area.

«Война Катрин» — графический роман о войне, в котором нет ни одной военной сцены. Рассказ об оккупации Франции ведётся от лица девочки-еврейки, которая была вынуждена сменить имя и искать убежища от нацистов в разных уголках страны. Из ценных вещей у неё с собой лишь фотоаппарат. Она запечатлевает всех приютивших её людей и таким образом составляет галерею свидетельств о Второй мировой. Объектив её камеры фокусируется на добре, и через него мы видим Францию 1940-х годов глазами взрослеющего в войну подростка.

Художница Клер Фовель создала графический роман «Война Катрин», вдохновившись одноимённым произведением Юлии Бийе. В 2018 году авторы получили премию Международного фестиваля комиксов в Ангулеме, самую престижную в этой области.
