Schwartz Evgeniy Lvovich: An ordinary miracle

Schwartz’s work occupies a special place in Russian literature of the twentieth century. Possessing an amazing ability to organically connect fantastic stories with current topics, he was able to accurately convey the tragedy of his time. At the same time, Schwartz, like no one else, believed in the inevitability of the triumph of good, and therefore his most famous fairy tale plays “The Naked King”, “Shadow”, “Dragon” and, of course, “An Ordinary Miracle” are dedicated to what is truly fragile, valuable and eternal – the human soul and the miracle of Love.

Творчество Шварца занимает особое место в русской литературе ХХ века. Обладая удивительной способностью органично соединять фантастические сюжеты с актуальными темами, он смог точно передать трагичность своего времени. Вместе с тем Шварц, как никто, верил в неизбежность торжества добра, и потому его самые известные пьесы-сказки «Голый король», «Тень», «Дракон» и, конечно же, «Обыкновенное чудо», посвящены тому, что поистине хрупко, ценно и вечно, — душе человека и чуду Любви.
