In the 2nd edition (1st published in 2000), additions were made to the section “Physical and technical foundations of magnetic resonance imaging”, reflecting modern knowledge about the principles of obtaining magnetic resonance images and the latest achievements in instrument engineering, chapters were added to the corresponding sections , devoted to the principles of localization of pathological changes in the brain and spinal cord, classifications of diseases were updated, visualization algorithms were revised in accordance with modern trends, information on semiotics and the effectiveness of the method was clarified.
