“The Three Musketeers” is a historical adventure novel by Alexandre Dumas the Father, first published in 1844. The book is dedicated to the adventures of a young nobleman named d’Artagnan, who went to Paris to become a musketeer, and his three musketeer friends Athos, Porthos and Aramis between 1625 and 1628. The action takes place against the historical backdrop of the struggle for power in France XVII century. D’Artagnan and his comrades defend the honor of the regiment from the attacks of the guards of Cardinal Richelieu and the honor of the young Queen Anne of Austria from the attacks of the cardinal himself.
