The author of the book is Orthodox nun Elisaveta (in the world Maya Nikolaevna Kryuchkova). For the first time, she talks about the revival of the monastery of mercy, founded by Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna Romanova, in the 90s of the 20th century.

Through the initiative, work and care of Mother Elisaveta (Kryuchkova), the monastery found a new life. For more than fifteen years she worked to restore not only the walls and buildings of the monastery, but also its unusual charter. Thanks to her energy, a shelter for orphans, a hospital for the lonely and suffering, and monasteries in different parts of Russia and abroad were created in the monastery. She managed to rally around her many philanthropists and everyone who wanted to help in the revival of the “favorite brainchild” of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna.
