In 1946-1948, the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, established by eleven powers that fought against Japan, tried in Tokyo the main Japanese war criminals – the leaders of the government, army and navy. The book of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the USSR L.N. Smirnov and international journalist E.B. Zaitsev. It convincingly shows the process itself and perfectly conveys the atmosphere in which it took place. This was possible because one of the authors, Lev Nikolaevich Smirnov, participated in the trial as a deputy Soviet prosecutor. The book is intended for a wide readership.
