История состоит из двух частей. В первой части мальчик Коля случайно (любопытство штука коварная) попадает из СССР 1976 года в будущее на сто с лишним лет вперед. Ну и как тут сразу вернуться обратно? Ведь надо и космодром глянуть, и космический зоопарк посетить, и новый городской транспорт опробовать. А мороженое? Вдруг изобрели какой-то новый необычный вкус, а он, не попробовав, вернется? Нее, так дело не пойдет! И Коля за неполные сутки успевает проделать титаническую работу, которая под силу только шестикласснику: людей (и не людей тоже) посмотреть, себя показать, в историю грандиозного масштаба с пиратами и миелофоном вляпаться. Во второй части уже Алиса (та самая Гостья из будущего) перемещается вслед за Колей в прошлое в Москву. И, если первая часть это приключения в основном одного Коли, то вторая часть очень яркая и насыщенная в первую очередь благодаря тому, что к делу подключается весь 6 “Б”, учителя и некоторые случайно попавшиеся под руку взрослые жители Москвы. Хочется еще отметить, как отлично автору удалось воссоздать не только настоящее (для него на тот момент) советских школьников, но и действительно “прекрасное далеко” будущего!
