This textbook is devoted to the history of the reform of practical medicine during the periods of the first and second scientific revolutions. The manual is written on the basis of research carried out at the Research Institute of the History of Medicine of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The materials presented in the manual can be used in studying the history of modern medicine, the history of medicine course, as well as the history of clinical disciplines, within the framework provided by the programs for teaching these academic subjects.
