…I can’t get out of my head a report about some new community of artists who paint iconographic images on the walls of various ruins, sometimes on the walls of destroyed and polluted churches. I think they call themselves “The Subsequent Icon”. And they showed a lot of their huge wall works – they make a strong impression. They say that today everything Christian is driven, as in the first centuries, into catacombs, into basements, and this is on our Orthodox and Christ’s land, it would seem, on our own land, but… it turns out that it only seems to us that on ours. They say that from these new catacombs the new birth of Christianity should begin…
