The author called the book “Stories from Memory.” And indeed, his memory has preserved precise and vivid details, which in their own way illuminate the life and work of many writers, widely known and loved by more than one generation since childhood. The story about S. Marshak is especially interesting. It truthfully recreates the image of the poet, prose writer and editor, who selflessly and inspiredly organized Soviet literature for children on new principles. You are welcome on the pages of this book V. Mayakovsky, S. Marshak, Yu. Olesha, E. Bagritsky, E. Shvarts, I. .Utkin, N.Zabolotsky and undeservedly forgotten writers and poets: N. Oleinikov, D. Kharms, Yu. Vladimirov and N. G. Smirnov. Compared to the first edition, two postscripts have been added to the book. These are stories about Doivber Levin and Sergei Kolbasiev, whose works appeared before the Great Patriotic War.
