Prisms

The book “Prisms”, offered to the reader, is based on materials from radio programs broadcast on the Voice of Israel radio station in Russian under the name “Prisms”. The collection includes “prism” sketches made in 1979-1984. Their author, Asher Lod (pseud. Oscar Mintz, born in 1925 in Riga; in Israel since 1974) devoted his essays to the most pressing problems of Israel – political, social, everyday. A talented and experienced journalist, he sensitively and acutely perceives the surrounding reality. He reacts to it quickly and accurately, covers the most pressing events of Israeli life almost at the very moment of their occurrence, knows how to give them the proper perspective and, what is equally important, does not at all strive to obscure or retouch anything. Thus, this collection is a unique emotional and truthful reflection of the life of Israel in the turbulent seventies and eighties.
