“The Last Journey of Vladimir Monomakh” is a historical novel by Russian writer Antonin Ladinsky, first published in 1966, after the death of the author. Tells about the Russian prince Vladimir Monomakh. Plot: The novel takes place in the 12th century. The elderly Prince Vladimir Monomakh sets off in a sleigh from Chernigov to Pereyaslavl, and on the way he remembers his entire long life. The opposite of the main character turns out to be Oleg Svyatoslavich, the second storyline is the story of the guslar Zlata, who is in love with the blacksmith’s daughter Lyubava. Before his death, Monomakh says goodbye to his sons, among whom the author clearly singles out Yuri (later Dolgoruky). The novel mentions the most important historical events of the 11th-12th centuries that took place in Rus’ or Europe.
