Таким образом, спустя почти 200 лет после публикации, многонациональный русскоязычный читатель, в особенности проживающий на территории исторической Ингерманландии, нынешней Ленинградской области и Санкт-Петербурга, держит в руках обстоятельное и научно обоснованное исследование предшествующих нам столетий. В оформлении книги использованы изображения из книги: «Этнографическое описание народов России Густава-Федора Христиановича Паули» («Description ethnographique des peuples de la Russie»). 1862 г. и карта Ингрии и Карелии 1745 г., Ивана Гриммеля. На первой странице обложки представлено изображение королевского герба провинции Ингерманланд.

About the Finnish population of the St. Petersburg province and the origin of the name Ingria The translation from German into Russian of the complete and most important work of Andreas Johan (Andrei Mikhailovich) Sjogren for the Ingrians, first carried out by Professor Alexey Viktorovich Vasiliev, is generally the first translation of this study.
