Saint Vladimir (Epiphany) was the first bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church, who gave his life for Christ during the years of terrible persecution of the faith in the twentieth century. With his martyr’s death he testified to his faith, which breathes into every page of his literary works. Many of them are not strict theological treatises, but lively conversations, which nevertheless reveal the deepest truths of the Christian faith. Such is the work of the holy martyr Vladimir, “Our Father. Discourses on the Lord’s Prayer,” which is offered to the attention of the pious reader. In a living form, the saint interprets the prayer transmitted to us by the Lord Himself.
