The book by Hierodeacon Nikon (Murtazov) “The Power of the Cross” presents simple stories about believers. These stories are not invented by the author, but taken from life. The 20th century became a time of special trials for the Orthodox person. Many of the best sons and daughters of the Church ended their earthly journey in exile and prison, patiently bearing the cross of confession and testifying for Christ. But in sorrows and persecutions the beauty of faith appeared to the world even more. The stories of Father Nikon are dedicated to the purity and holiness of the Christian heart faithful to the Lord, the help of God that comes to those who entrust themselves to the Heavenly Father, the human feat that the All-Merciful Lord expects from us.
