Мосты культуры В книгу вошли научные и публицистические статьи, интервью, выступления выдающегося отечественного историка-востоковеда, академика Российской академии наук, председателя Конгресса петербургской интеллигенции, Почетного доктора СПбГУП М. Б. Пиотровского. Академик Пиотровский — директор Государственного Эрмитажа с 1992 года. Разработанная им концепция «Большой Эрмитаж» позволила создать систему музеев-«спутников», которые несут имя и идеи великого музея миру. Книга отражает многогранность научного творчества автора и его деятельности на посту руководителя одного из величайших музеев мира, а также гражданскую позицию и личную точку зрения на современные культурные и социальные реалии. По убеждению академика Пиотровского, в эпоху, когда в мире нарастает стремление к сепаратизму и построению крепостей, главная миссия культуры — возводить мосты между народами, и музеи находятся в авангарде этого процесса. B. Piotrovsky. Academician Piotrovsky has been director of the State Hermitage since 1992.
