We present to the attention of readers a collection of stories by Vasily Kosterin “The Fifth Shot”. The works presented in it are dedicated to miracles, and above all to miracles from holy images. Both famous miraculous icons and lesser-known ones are revered in the Church, but this collection of stories affirms the idea that every icon is secretly, in its secrecy, miraculous. The author reminds the reader: while honoring icons, let us not forget that it is not the earthly image of Jesus Christ, even if painted exclusively spiritually and with talent, but the Lord Himself, through the prayers of a person, through the icon, he gives him everything useful for this life and for eternal life.
