The anatomy of the orbit is one of the most complex areas of ophthalmology. Detailed knowledge of it is necessary not only for ophthalmologists, but also for all specialists who have to touch this area in their practice.

This book is not just an anatomical atlas. Detailed explanations in the text are aimed at helping the reader become familiar with the functional morphology of the orbit. Each chapter focuses on a different anatomical system, such as the extraocular muscles, arteries, and nerves of the orbit. The anatomical system is first presented in isolation to show the important features of its structure, then additional systems are added, starting with the extraocular muscles to demonstrate anatomical relationships and ending with the bones. In separate chapters, attention is paid to such structures as the fatty and connective tissue components of the orbit, the lacrimal system, and the eyelids. Separately, using a series of microphotographs, the histological structure of the orbit is presented.
