The book brought to your attention is a collection of short conversations for every church day, i.e. liturgical calendar 2019. This means that the topics of these conversations were not chosen arbitrarily by me, but in accordance with the significance of a particular date, to which, according to our Charter of worship, the readings of certain fragments from the Holy Scriptures, liturgical hymns (liturgical chants) and prayers correspond.
The decisive factor in choosing the topic of the day for me was the content of one of his liturgical readings. At the same time, of course, I tried to take into account both the liturgical significance of a particular day and the degree of its importance among other days. Therefore, at the next stage of choosing topics for conversations, preference was given to the dates of great holidays, as well as the days of remembrance of great saints. In addition, I supplemented some conversations with small reference articles in which the most important terms and concepts from the field of liturgy, asceticism, soteriology, general theology and other special disciplines are presented and explained.
.In the information about each date, I did not include all the data that is given in our liturgical calendars, since this would significantly increase both the size of each article-novel and the overall volume of the collection. From several liturgical readings of a given day, I most often chose one for the topic of conversation, rarely two (links are indicated under the title of the short stories) and tried to make my conversation sensible, i.e. explained the essence and meaning of the sacred text, and at the same time brief. I also sought not only to interpret the text (explain what is written and how to understand it) but also to show its relevance (why it was written and whether it is relevant to us today).
.I sincerely hope that this collection can become one of your interlocutors in thinking about God and His truths contained in Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition, as well as one of your fellow travelers on the way to His Church – the collection of His faithful followers.
