The book “Kingdom and Priesthood” is the first book of the multi-volume project “Power and Law in the History of the Church” by the famous Russian jurist and Byzantinist Velichko A. M., which included works on the history and philosophy of law, the “symphony of powers”, individual rights, how they are revealed in Christian doctrine, the moral idea of ​​the state, as well as the relationship between law, politics and morality. A special place in the collection is occupied by the topic of the legal ideal in Byzantium, hesychia (“Jesus Prayer”), canon law and its differences from state law.
