Two years have passed since the Eclipse. After many battles, fate brings Guts, nicknamed the Black Swordsman, and his companion Puck to a poor village, where the inhabitants suffer from raids by “elves”. But as soon as Guts catches them in the act of robbery, it becomes clear to him: these are not elves at all, but monstrous insects that devour people and livestock. Ordinary people cannot find control over them: the swarm, like locusts, destroys everything in its path, and if it notices a child, it will carry it to its nest.

By chance, Guts saves Jill, and she tells about the Misty Valley, from where the ominous “elves” fly. Very soon the Queen of the Swarm appears, in whom Jill recognizes her missing friend Rosina…

Со дня Затмения пролетело два года. После многих сражений судьба заносит Гатса, прозванного Черным Мечником, и его спутника Пака в нищую деревушку, где жители страдают от налетов «эльфов». Но едва Гатс застает их за разбоем, как ему становится ясно: это никакие не эльфы, а чудовищные насекомые, что пожирают людей и скот. Простой люд не может найти на них управы: рой, подобно саранче, уничтожает все на своем пути, а если заметит ребенка, унесет в свое гнездо.

Волею случая Гатс спасает Джилл, и та рассказывает о Туманной долине, откуда прилетают зловещие «эльфы». Очень скоро показывается и Королева роя, в ком Джилл узнает свою пропавшую подругу Розину…
