One of the most popular annually updated small editions of the world atlas, started in the Soviet Union, continued into the 1990s. This edition is from 1998. The sizes of the largest cities and state borders that were current at the time of compilation of the atlas are clearly marked. At the end of the atlas there is background information on the countries of the world, including the population of the largest cities in each country.
