Why do most people allow their lower tendencies to express themselves freely, without allowing their higher tendencies to have a say in order to subdue them, to direct them?… Or do people attack them to destroy them, as if they were enemies their evolution. So, in both cases they make a mistake, because they introduce a division between the top and the bottom. However, the cosmic Mind has provided that the higher faculties should draw their energies from the lower functions; the latter are, in fact, like the roots which are necessary so that this tree, which is man, can draw from its “earth” the substances which it will transform in order to produce flowers and fruits.
.How does the transformation of rough sap absorbed by the roots into processed sap take place in a tree…? This transformation takes place in the leaves, thanks to the light of the sun… In the same way, thanks to the light of the spiritual sun, we can transform the crude sap within us – our instinctive tendencies – into a processed sap that will nourish the flowers and fruits of our soul and our spirit. This is how we will become real alchemists.
